Desired Skills & Knowledge:
Technical Proficiency in IT Infrastructure: Knowledge of network setups, server administration, Backups, workstations, printers, biometric (door access) systems, Handheld
Terminals (HHTs), and peripheral devices. Familiarity with operating systems like Windows, Linux and networking fundamentals.
Hardware and Software Management: Ability to install, configure, and maintain hardware and software applications. Experience with updating systems and applications to the latest versions and patches. Knowledge on O365 needed.
Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. Capability to provide end-user support and guidance for IT-related problems. Knowledge on Active Directory, Powershell needed
IT Security and Compliance: Understanding of IT security principles, including firewall, antivirus solutions, and data encryption. Knowledge of compliance with IT policies and procedures.
Vendor Management: Skills in managing relationships with vendors for the procurement of IT hardware and software, as well as coordinating with external support services for issue resolution.
Inventory Management: Knowledge of IT asset management processes and lifecycle, including inventory tracking, resource utilization, and ensuring compliance with procurement procedures.
Service Level Agreement (SLA) Management: Experience with logging IT-related calls in a service management system (e.g., Jira) and ensuring resolution within defined SLAs.
Training and Communication: Ability to train and guide staff on IT systems and best practices. Excellent communication skills verbal & written to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends, innovations, and best practices in IT operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. IT Infrastructure and Systems Maintenance:
- Oversee and maintain local IT infrastructure, including network connections, servers, workstations, printers, Biometric (Door Access), HHTs, and peripheral devices.
- Perform routine system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Install, configure, and update hardware and software applications as needed.
- Backup data according to the policy.
2. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide support to end-users facing hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems, offering timely and accurate solutions to ensure minimal downtime.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT personnel or external support services as necessary and coordinate till needful fulfilled
3. Security and Compliance:
- Implement and monitor IT security policies and procedures to protect systems and data from unauthorised access and cyber threats.
- Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and apply necessary patches or updates.
- Ensure local IT practices comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
4. Project Management and Implementation:
- Participate in assigned IT projects, from planning and deployment to documentation and reporting.
- Coordinate with the central IT team and other departments to implement new technology solutions that align with company objectives.
- Manage IT inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and efficient resource utilization.
5. Training and Development:
- Provide training and guidance to staff on IT systems and best practices.
- Stay informed about the latest technology trends and innovations to drive continuous improvement and efficiency in IT operations.
6. Adherence to SLAs:
- Ensure that all IT-related calls are logged in the service management system (such as Jira).
- Ensure that resolutions are provided on call and that defined SLAs are met.
7. Asset Inventory Management & Vendor Coordination:
- Ensure all IT-related assets are maintained according to the defined process and the asset management lifecycle is followed.
- Coordinate with vendors according to the defined procedure for procuring necessary IT hardware & software and for resolving issues."
