Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Initially, a consultancy HR recruiter contacted me regarding the role of Growth Marketing Manager, emphasizing a higher salary package. This position entailed overseeing all growth marketing practices. The recruiter initially set an interview for six days later, but due to the interviewer's unavailability, it was rescheduled for two days after the initial date. During the interview via Google Meet, the interviewer, Swapnil, inquired about my roles, responsibilities, and career journey. However, he seemed distracted, looking elsewhere instead of engaging with the camera, while discussing company roles and responsibilities. This behavior reflected a lack of focus on the candidate's hiring process.

Throughout the interview, I also posed questions to Swapnil regarding strategies for managing client onboarding processes as a Growth Marketing professional, seeking a detailed explanation of the organization's procedures. In a closing hypothetical question, Swapnil asked how I would enhance the 15% conversion rate from 100 signup forms. I elaborated on optimizing landing pages, conducting lead nurturing via email campaigns, and implementing remarketing strategies to enhance conversion rates.

Critically, Swapnil mentioned that the email addresses received were mostly personal, suggesting I had not responded adequately. He failed to acknowledge his missteps in the targeting of ad campaigns and instead criticized my answers, claiming they fell short of expectations.

I find it perplexing that Swapnil, without utilizing real audience data, could anticipate such detailed responses from candidates. His analysis of the failed smartlead Facebook Video ad campaign, lack of user engagement, and delayed responses underscore his inability to tailor messages effectively to the target audience. This behavior demonstrates a lack of respect for candidates and a disregard for employee value. I strongly recommend that the organization prioritize respect, attentiveness towards candidates, and show respect for senior professionals, rather than diminishing their worth.
