Start adding the numbers from the rightmost column
If the sum is greater than 9, carry over the excess value to the next column
Continue adding the numbers column-wise until all columns are added
Example: 345 + 267 = 612, where 5+7=12, carry over 1 to the next column and add 4+6+1=11 in the next column
Subtraction with two digit numbers involves borrowing and regrouping.
Start from the ones place and subtract the digits, borrow if necessary
