I applied via LinkedIn and was interviewed in Apr 2024. There were 3 interview rounds.

Round 1 - Assignment

As this role is for Redrob by Mckinley Rice, so the assignment was with video on, screenshared mode with 45 minutes timer. Not allowed to have a 2nd tab opened on the browser.

Q1. A marketing slogan of 6-7 words to promote Redrob. Brief of Redrob was provided.
Q2. Write a Blog, no word limit including the two pointers provided. The blog should have proper Title (H1) and following sub-titles (H2s) and a conclusion.

Round 2 - One-on-one

(1 Question)

  • Q1. This was the Expertise Round with "Tejaswini P", Senior Content writer with Redrob by Mckinley Rice. This was an extensive knowledge based round and went well. Though, the interviewer is pretty less experi...
Round 3 - Final Round

(1 Question)

  • Q1. No need for questions

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - For this round the interviewers were "Mihiir Prabhu", Sales Head - IN and "Anand D", Digital Marketing Manager. So, this round was nothing different from 2nd round as same questions was asked by both. And let me tell you one thing, here also the combined experience of above mentioned interviewers is 7-8 years, so again I am in front of panel of interviewers who are less experienced than me.

Lastly, Lead Talent Acquisition "Utkarsh Sinha", mailed me the rejection email stating I am not the best suited candidate for this role and as a customary message, he mentioned that I can follow their "carrer" page, yes, this is how he spelt " Career" and that too hyperlinked with Redrob Career page. Mr. Utkarsh Sinha, himself is in need of a professional writer who can do the proofread for him.

In short, all the people mentioned in this review have wasted my time, when in the 1st place they do not deserve to be the interviewer/s and could have rejected me after the assignment itself.

This interview taught me that no matter what experience and skills do matter, otherwise there will be many more Tejaswini P, Mihiir Prabhu, Anand D and Utkarsh Sinha floating here and there!

Interview Preparation Tips

General Tips: This interview was a technical one but was majorly a stress test. It lasted for about 1 hour 10 minutes. The interviewer wanted to test both my knowledge and communication skills. Most of the questions asked to me were related to my B.Tech curriculum i.e. computer science related topics. He stressed a lot on the basics related to my project topic. Luckily I was able to answer most of the questions correctly. I tried to answer each question with examples and also used props on the table (like pens, paperweights, pen stands etc.) to explain my theories. It was my first offcampus interview, and I think I did pretty well for a fresher.
You need to stay calm and should apply presence of mind. Please go through the job description thoroughly word-by-word and recheck your resume to ensure that you are a best-fit for the position.
