  • Q1. Why wiring of home is always to be in the parallel connection.
  • Ans.

Wiring of home is always in parallel connection for safety, efficiency, and flexibility.

    • Parallel wiring allows each electrical device to operate independently.

    • If one device fails, others continue to function.

    • Parallel wiring reduces the risk of overloading and overheating.

    • It provides flexibility to add or remove devices without affecting others.

    • Parallel wiring ensures consistent voltage across devices.

    • Examples: outlets,...

  • Q2. Why is ACSR conductor is used in transmission line.
  • Ans.

ACSR conductor is used in transmission lines due to its high strength, low cost, and good conductivity.

    • ACSR (Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced) conductor is made up of aluminum strands surrounded by steel wires.

    • The steel core provides strength and support, while the aluminum strands offer good conductivity.

    • The combination of aluminum and steel makes ACSR conductor lightweight and durable.

    • ACSR conductor has a high ten...

  • Q3. Why dc series motor used for train.
  • Ans.

DC series motors are used for trains due to their high starting torque and ability to handle heavy loads.

    • DC series motors have a high starting torque, which is necessary for accelerating heavy trains from rest.

    • These motors can handle heavy loads and provide sufficient power to move the train even on steep gradients.

    • DC series motors offer good speed control and can be easily reversed for braking.

    • They are relatively simp...

  • Q4. For semiconductor material is always used silicon why
  • Ans.

Silicon is commonly used as a semiconductor material due to its abundance, versatility, and desirable electrical properties.

    • Silicon is the second most abundant element on Earth, making it readily available and cost-effective.

    • It has a stable crystal structure, allowing for consistent and reliable performance.

    • Silicon has a moderate bandgap, which enables it to conduct electricity under certain conditions and act as an in...

  • Q2. Kw and kva different
  • Ans.

kW is a unit of real power while kVA is a unit of apparent power in electrical engineering.

    • kW stands for kilowatts and represents the actual power consumed by a device or system.

    • kVA stands for kilovolt-amperes and represents the total power in an electrical system, including both real and reactive power.

    • The difference between kW and kVA is due to the presence of reactive power in the system.

    • In an ideal system with unit...

  • Q3. Power factor control point
  • Q4. Transformer work of principle
  • Ans.

Transformer works on the principle of electromagnetic induction to transfer electrical energy between two or more circuits.

    • Transformers consist of two coils of wire, known as the primary and secondary coils.

    • When an alternating current flows through the primary coil, it creates a changing magnetic field around it.

    • This changing magnetic field induces a voltage in the secondary coil, transferring electrical energy between...

  • Q5. Types of motor ac
  • Ans.

Types of AC motors include induction motors, synchronous motors, and brushed and brushless DC motors.

    • Induction motors: most commonly used type, simple design, reliable, low cost

    • Synchronous motors: maintain constant speed, used in applications requiring precise speed control

    • Brushed DC motors: use brushes to conduct current, simple design, easy to control speed
