Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - The interview was a technical one but more to test my leadership skills as I was offered Assistant manager’s position. I would suggest the candidates to be genuine and themselves when they are asked about situational questions. It’s okay to not know everything in technical aspect but it’s necessary to be humble and accept the same. It’s important to be able to convey your weaknesses and strengths and your takeaways from previous job. Please understand the job description and what you are expected to do so you can build up your conversation around it. If possible check LinkedIn profile or some basic information about the person who will interview you. Try to build a certain rapport when they take interview show that you are also interested in them and the organisation. Lastly confidence is important so all the best and give your best shot!

Keep your resume crisp and to the point. A recruiter looks at your resume for an average of 6 seconds, make sure to leave the best impression.

Round 2 - Aptitude Test

Tests are Pymetrics and an online case. Pymetrics is a personality test of sorts (risk aversion, pattern recognition, etc.) this was benchmarked against successful Consultants. Online case is multiple choice but the questions flow like a normal case interview. You will get a final round interview if you do really well on them. If you just ‘pass’, you have to have an internal designation of a high priority or very high priority candidate. (See advice)

Round 3 - Group Discussion

Standard 2 case interviews with senior leaders, already a lot of material on this elsewhere

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I led campus recruiting for 2 top MBA programs. Every interaction before an interview is important. You really want to be on the high priority or very high priority lists. The coffee chats are not just to answer your questions, we make a 25-minute determination of whether you had an impressive background, we’re inquisitive, and passed the airport test. Make sure you bring your energy to all of it. It determines how much support you get and how many interactions you have with senior leaders during the recruiting process to give you advice.
