My answer was as follows:
Whenever a pump cavitates there is huge fluctuation in the flow of the pump. The flow transmitter placed on the discharge line on the pump will show fluctuations. Additionally the power consumed by the pump will also fluctuate as the power consumed is directly proportional to the flow through the pump.
