I: What factors will you consider for market entry in this case.

C: I can think on 4 major factors in this case. Product portfolio, Customer segment in new market, Competitors in the new market, barrier to entry.

I: Can you see any possibilities of partner?

C: Yes, Partners can be helpful with marketing and may be distribution also.

I: Don’t you see any help of partner in R&D?

C: Yes, we can take help of a partner in developing the “product portfolio”.

I: Suppose the sales is proportional to the investment made in the sector, and I am giving you data for 3 industries, tell me which industry you will select to launch your product. (Provided me with the amount of investment of companies. And the growth rate).

C: Figured it out and said my preference.

I: What is the difference in market entry strategy if the company is owned by third party vis-à-vis it is owned by the managers involved in operations.

C: If it is owned by third party, he or she will be more interested in getting return on the investment made. If is it owned by the managers, they will be interested in knowing the operational synergies of market entry.

I: Sounds Good. Tell me the exit options in this case.

C: There can be two ways of exiting the business. First will be to sell the entire business to third party, second will be to sell the assets of business.
