Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Questions are not difficult, Time management is very important. It was very well designed test our overall abilities and communication skills. Test was online conducted by cocubes. Out of 220+ students who attempted test, only 27 were selected to next round. I expected them to select some 70-80 after 1st round.
Tips: Questions carry 1/3rd negative marks. Don't try to answer questions in order, find out easy questions and solve them first, as I said earlier, Time management is very important. I attempted arithmetic reasoning first, English (Verbal ability) next and then mathematical ability.
Duration: 45 minutes
Total Questions: 40

Round: Interview
Experience: I focused more on my approach to solve the puzzle and that paid off. I didn't prepare for puzzles either so I tried to solve it in my own way and that might have impressed the interviewer. Some other questions like how many benches are there in this campus ? and If I wanted to start a Food center in the campus, How many customers can I expect etc questions were asked. These questions don't have any perfect answer but they see the way in which you attempt and explain it convincingly.
Tips: Be confident. If they ask anything, answer properly so If they ask questions like How many customers can I expect a day after starting a food court in your college, don't just give any random number, try to do some math and give a number so that you can explain why you gave that number .

Round: Interview
Experience: This Interview is one of the best Interview Experiences I had. I was Interviewed by one of the senior vice presidents of the company. I enjoyed answering it. I know my strengths and weaknesses and I was frank to state my weaknesses and explained how I will over come them in my work place and all. I was asked a lot of questions and some times the interviewer twisted questions to see If I'm answering sincerely or just giving fake answers to the questions. This interview went so well that I was sure of my selection after this round.

And Interestingly, of the 27 members that were selected to 1st round of Interviews, I was 10th one as names were written alphabet wise. But I was the first one to be called out for 2nd round Interview.
Tips: Be clear and Confident with your answers. Answer after thinking for a while, they won't expect instant answers. Remember what you have answered as they might ask the same question again and you might get caught answering differently ( This happens when you fake your experiences and answers). Be frank, Sincere. You know your strengths and try to state your strengths to them (They might not ask you to say your strengths, you have to include them in some answers). Think different and answer in a way that most others won't.

Round: Interview
Experience: As I was confident of my selection after 2nd round of Interview, I stuck to my plans and answered well. I think this round was just to see If I would Join the company or not.
Tips: Stick to what you have answered earlier, they might compel you to change your answers just to see If you are confident with your answers. Remember that Raju's Interview in 3 Idiots ? He will be asked to be more diplomatic but he rejects that Idea .. My Interview was also similar.

Skill Tips: Answers which you read in internet are not your experiences, so they aren't to be copied. Assess yourself and your answers have to reflect your experiences. I didn't prepare anything for Campus placements as I was confident of my skills. I took time in analyzing myself and the way in which I have to project myself in Interviews. I didn't prepare for GD's and PI's .

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: CGPA criteria of 7.5+ and 10th-12th criteria of 80% +

Round: Test
Experience: An online written test was conducted by cocubes in the campus. It was of 45 minutes and consisted of 40 questions (20 Quant, 10 LR, 10 Verbal). Quant had data interpretation questions, verbal consisted of reading comprehension.
Tips: Questions at the end of a segment were relatively easy. Try to leave the questions which are tough, and do them at the end. Do the easy ones first.

Round: Puzzle Interview
Experience: First they asked about me, and then started on my interests, which I told them finance and stock markets. Then they asked me about stocks, greece crisis, stock markets etc. One case study was also performed. It was easy and could be done right then.
Tips: Keep yourself calm, even if you cannot solve the puzzles tell them your approach.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: This was the toughest round. They asked me 2 puzzles and a guesstimate which was way too tough. They grilled me on technical things. They kept telling me that you are a technical mind, why you are joining a consultancy. Overall, they were nice.
Tips: Its good to read about the organisation and its work. You can correlate the questions then, like how your capabilities are matching with the job profile. You can ask them a good question. It proved handy to me in this interview.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: This was just a formality. They wanted to know whether finally you would join this company or not.

General Tips: Take the interview in the direction where you want. Tell them your interest right at the start, so that they can grill you on that only. There were no questions on minor training or projects. There was nothing on technical part as well. Throw in your AIEEE/JEE MAINS/Advanced rank, that was the time when you were at your best and it may escape you out of the problem. It did in my case. He started grilling me on my low CGPA (lowest out of selected candidates), low 12th%, I just threw my AIEEE rank and I was placed.
Skills: Aptitude, Verbal english, Guesstimation
College Name: MANIT Bhopal
Funny Moments: Well there were many.
During the first HR interview, they asked me why do you want to join a consultancy company when you are an engineer? I said, engineers can do anything and why do you visit our campus when you want consultants.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: This round consisted of 40 questions and time limit was also 40 minutes. Since I was preparing for CAT, so I found this round quite easy, but since I was appearing for a job, hence pressure was there. Fortunately, I cleared this round with ease.
Tips: You can practice questions online. Indiabix.com is useful site for this. If you want to practice some advance questions, then refer to Arun sharma's books
Duration: 40 minutes
Total Questions: 40

Round: Puzzle Interview
Experience: I don't remember the exact questions which company officials asked, but this round was entirely based on puzzles. They asked 4-6 puzzles starting with easy ones and then level of difficulty increased. I solved first 4 puzzles. Last two puzzles were quite difficult and I remember I took 15-20 minutes to solve each. I was able to solve one but not other. Apart from this they also asked 1 guesstimate question. It was "how many litres of paint is required to paint the building of your college". I estimated the area of buildings and after 20 minutes gave a guesstimate answer. Impressed with my problem solving skills, I was eligible for the next round.
Tips: There are many online sites through which you can practice puzzles and IQ questions.
For guesstimate question you need to know certain details that might help you to solve the questions like
1. Population of india
2. Population of your state and city
3. Literacy rate
4. Sex ratio
5. Your college parameters

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: This round was technical round. I did internship on ERP software and Database management, so they asked a few questions on it. Then next was questions related to the subjects which I studied. Since I am not good at Electronics so I wasn't able to solve much questions. I feared that I might get eliminated now. Then they asked few questions from coding C, C++, Data structure. I solved them quickly. I guessed that saved me, and I got promoted for next round
Tips: One thing interviewers will definitely ask in this round is questions related to your subjects. So, if you good in your studies then you can easily clear this else you can prepare 2-3 subjects well. Rest technical questions will depend on your resume like apart from studies what additional knowledge you possess.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The final round, "grand finale". I had given two interviews for internship and got rejected both times in final round. So, I was a bit tensed. I went there, the VP of the company was sitting there ready to fire questions upon me. But, I maintained my equanimity and gave appropriate answers and after 3 hours, my name was there among the list of selected students.
Tips: Prepare for the HR questions which is generally asked. And be ready for surprise questions they might ask from you. You have to be confident that's all and you can succeed with flying colours
