Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I had a single interviewer. I started by telling about myself. After the general stuff, I moved on to the core engineering areas that I am interested in and the projects I had done. I was asked to explain any one of them. I did that pretty well and I guess he was impressed by the way in which I explained them. He asked me only a simple question after letting me choose the topic. He suggested FEA, but when I said I am not very comfortable with that we moved to mechanics (I suggested it).

Round: HR Interview
Experience: How another person would describe you, your interests, what you do to improve yourself, what have you done to improve your career, why Eaton, why no higher studies, where do you see yourself in 3-5 years, greatest achievement, one time when you went against authority, one time when you had a bad relationship with someone and how you sorted it out, strengths, weaknesses..usual HR stuff
Tips: Focus on courses that you really like and know them in and out. Also be very thorough on the projects that you have done. Speaking with confidence really helps. I wasn't really prepared, so for the HR questions I was quite frank even if I took some time. It would be good to think about all that you have done while going through common HR questions.

I could do well on the tech part since I could direct it to my comfort zones. I talked for about 15minutes on my DDP project. I had good projects on my resume and I think that helped too. I was able to direct my interviewer to my intern/DDP in the beginning itself. That was a good idea.

General Tips: I had a thorough understanding of my projects. It is good to have a very good understanding of the basics in the courses that you like/that are relevant.
