Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: It was constituted into 3 parts: English (15 minutes), Aptitude (30 minutes) and Technical (75 minutes).
Tips: Technical was mainly from structural engineering but all civil branches except BTCM was called. However, they didn't put more weight age on technical, I think, because I answered very less.
Duration: 120 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: It was a group task. We were divided into several groups. Some puzzle was given and we had to work in group and solve the puzzle in a given time. The puzzle consisted of interaction with other groups also. Some groups got two problems and others got only one.

Round: Interview
Experience: Technical round was conducted by a lady, head of geotechnical division. She asked mainly application level questions. Piles, Foundations and Ground Improvement. She also asked about the project we were doing.
Tips: Concentrate more on Pile design static and dynamic (just the concept), foundation shallow, different ground improvement methods (just the names), project details (just what our objective is and what is the progress till now).

Round: Interview
Experience: HR round was rather a formality. Some simple questions about ourselves were asked, some introduction to the company profile, about our understanding of the company etc. It was rather a friendly conversation.

General Tips: I didn't prepare much for the placement. Questions were actually based on basic geo-tech stuff. If you have some idea, you can tackle the Interview. Just have a look 2-3 days before and its enough.
