Rectifiers are electronic devices used to convert AC to DC. There are two types: half-wave and full-wave.

• Rectifiers are used in power supplies to convert AC to DC.

• Half-wave rectifiers only allow one half of the AC waveform to pass through, resulting in a pulsating DC output.

• Full-wave rectifiers allow both halves of the AC waveform to pass through, resulting in a smoother DC output.
