Experience: The topic is simple. I got many chances to speak and I utilized the opportunities. Don’t get afraid of GD. Feel like you are talking to your friends in cool manner. Round: Technical Interview
Experience: For us HR and Technical are combined. This is the shortest and easiest interview I have ever faced till now. They asked me to draw diagrams of DC Shunt and DC series machines and also asked the applications of them. They asked why Star delta starter is used. I said to limit starting currents in Induction motor while starting. What is hysteresis? I said b lags behinds H by some angle. What will you do to reduce hysteresis losses? I said laminate the core.

Experience: In HR they asked about my family background. They asked whether I know Hindi. I replied them in Hindi. They asked whether I am willing to work in mundra located in Gujarat. They asked that if you are given chance to choose location among their plants which plant will you choose.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The written test was of two parts. Technical and aptitude. The technical paper was easy mostly covering the basics and almost no numerical was asked. The paper was of 30 min duration and consisted of 75 questions and had no negative markings. Similarly quantitative was also of 30 min and consisted of 75 questions with no negative markings. The quantitative paper was very easy but you had to take care of the time factor which was very less.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: In GD they told us the topic and gave us a minute to think about the topic before starting. I would advice the juniors to make use of this time judiciously and think about certain points related to the topic and then make use of those points. It was a peaceful process with everyone getting their fair chance. Shouting and repeating your points does not help. Just be cool and chip in your points at appropriate times.
Duration: 10 minutes

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The HR part mainly consisted of the usual ones. Saysomething about yourself in 1 min? Your family history? Why you choose engg. as your career option? Why you want to be power industry? They also wanted to know if i know hindi and part of the interview was in Hindi. The HR part was very good. Panel members also being very cooperative and waiting for our answers and encouraging us to say more.

General Tips: I would suggest the juniors to keep their fundamentals and basics good. Because the written part was mainly based on basic fundamentals. Also in GD in personal interview you must keep your cool and answer all the questions with confidence. I would also advice to go through projects and industrial training material as you can divert their questions towards it.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Aptitude test of half an hour, is common for all the branches and is not that difficult at all.The questions were from quant and verbal. The technical paper was mostly electrical and powersystem fundamentals.Try the questions given in the backpages of Bhimbra-Electrical Machines.
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Frankly, i wasn't in my best during the GD.I just gave an instance, i knew of, where luck played an important role. And for the rest of the time i was just supporting or refuting other's view points. Just make sure that you are in the loop and carry on with confidence.
Duration: 15 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The HR and Technical interview was combined. I was asked about my technical interests and then followed few technical questions like, about Ferranti effect, variable frequency drives and so on.Also i was asked to draw some drives for speed control. What all they ask will be basics, and mostly they are checking whether you can convey technical information smoothly.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: HR guy was almost like stoic and didn't gave away much.Even when you think you are answering him smoothly, he gives a face which says,he is not satisfied. I guess it's one of HR people's strategies.Just keep yourself calm.He started off with typical Hr questions like, "Tell me about yourself" and all. Other questions asked where... "What is your model behaviour?".. "How do you keep yourself updated about new information ?"... "Activities in college?" ... soon The interview want on for a good half an hour.

General Tips: Work through your fundamentals and just give a little time on your quant and voc. And remain cool throughout the process... That's all i've .. All the Best.
