Interview Preparation Tips
Round: Test
Experience: The questions were from basics of mechanics of solids,fluid mechanics,material science etc.the technical was very easy and comprises of 75 questions and a rough preparation of all the above subject would be enough for the technical test .whereas aptitude ranges from engligh ( idioms , word meaning,choose correct word etc), quantitative(time and work etc),currrency graph , coding (alphabetic and numeral ) and it too comprises of 75 questions etc .
Duration: 60 minutes
Round: Group Discussion
Experience: They just want to assure that the heartly contribution from every candiate is being made .As far as i felt they were not looking for expert opinion but a simple touch to the topic through examples,benifits,limitations and methodology of eradication were enough to make you through the GD process .
Duration: 15 minutes
Round: HR Interview
Experience: In personal they were more concentrated whether the person knows hindi ,and is willing to work in gujarat.
General Tips: Have a rough knowledge of mechanics of solids ,thermodynamics,material science and a general know how of automobiles will be enough to make through the selection process.

Experience: Aptitute test mainly consisted of verbal and english. the questions were very easy in aptitude. nothing to fear of!! don't have to prepare for quants. the technical paper mainly consisted of questions from project planning and management. there was no negative marking. so do as much as you can. and b aware that there will be much competition as the paper is easy.
Duration: 60 minutes
Round: Group Discussion
Experience: Plz keep in mind that there is a big difference in a debate and a group discussion. when you are discussing something, you are supposed to follow a certain code of conduct. do not raise your voice to offensive.try to explain things in a subtle manner. somebody also should take lead to manage the discussion and let others have a chance to speak. do not argue on vague points. give your own substantial points.
Duration: 15 minutes
Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I was asked the parameter in consideration for construction of a chimney. though such a design is not given in books, you can name the general parameters as wind load, seismic load, escentric load etc. I was also asked for the test done on a slab.

Experience: I was mostly asked about family background. What does your father do and what does your brother do, like question.
but i was also checked for the information of the nearest plant they had from my place of residence.
General Tips: Prepare for the group discussion well. once you clear it, your almost there!! Prepare for the HR questions as well. do not think that you will make up some ans on the time. you may get very nervous at the time of interview and may not be able to think very fast. in such a case, you should know your back up answers. don't get much nervous because your going to get it.

Experience: First part consisted of two written test,one normal aptitude test consisting of 75 questions followed by a technical test having the same number of questions.Aptitude paper contained normal and very basic questions like time and distance and number problems,series and some english too. Technical test was concentrated on electrical machinery,power systems and measurement & instrumentation.
Duration: 60 minutes
Round: Group Discussion
Experience: My group consisted of 12 student and the whole process went quite smooth. Try to bring out good points with examples and one very important thing ,if you start something you better conclude that, don't leave it in the middle.It gives a bad impression to the observer.

Experience: Interview started right away as I entered in the interview room . Interview panel consisted of 3 members and all of them were very cooperative and friendly.They asked me about my favourite subjects.Some technical questions were like ,what is SIL,how will you reduce trnsformer iron losses,what is ferranti effect,what is skin effect,they also asked me about hyteresis loop and phasor diagram of transformer and synchronous machine.

Experience: There was not a seperate HR interview, once they were done with the technical questions they switched to HR.They asked me about my family background,hobbies, my daily activities and pretty much about everything. But,overall it was quite a friendly chit chat.
General Tips: Be confident and have a good grasp of basics. If you are going to tell your favourite subject to the interviewer then you better be good in that.
