Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: It was a simple screening process which evaluated the candidates' holistic development and skills.
Tips: Make sure your resume is crisp and brings out the details that you want the interviewers to notice. Also work towards a balanced resume. Everyone has a good pointer these days. The hiring panel is looking for something different.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Since I'm from engineering background and I was interviewing for a marketing/ BDO profile, the biggest question I was asked was "Why marketing?". My answer was - "Why NOT marketing?". As an engineer our work doesn't finish at developing or designing a product anymore. We need to market our products. Moreover, the planning of a new product begins at this question - Is this product marketable?
So to work in a different work environment and to be given a new challenge is what ensured the interviewer that I am a good choice.
Tips: Sell yourself. You can always direct an interview as per your comfort. Make sure you present your best. But don't dominate the interviewer during that process. A calm head and a simple smile goes a long way.
