Round: CGPA criteria Experience: Students having CGPA more than the average of our Mechanical batch were shortlisted in this round.average of our mechanical batch was 7.67. Tips: take your semester examinations seriously.atleast try to keep your cgpa more than average of your class.
Round: Test Experience: there was around total 110 -125 question in this round.around 60-75 question from aptitude ,reasoning and english.and around 50 questions were from technical.we had to solve this within duration of 1 hour 45 minutes. aptitude was quite easy and in technical, questions were from som,ic,themro,md,materials,fluidmachinary,fm. some questions were theoritical and some were very easy formula based questions. 40 student were shortlisted after this test Tips: maintain speed throughout the written .dont get stuck on difficult one they are inserted intentionally.have a look at previous year ies and gate questions(theoritical) before written. made easy handbook for mechanical engineering is also quite helpful. Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes
Round: psychometric test Experience: this was totally new experience for us people.and this test was also eliminating round.in this test there was not any right option or wrong option for question.this test was meant to check your behaviour & personality trait.and some situational questions were also there.time period was 30 minute .21 student were shortlisted out of 40 after this round.fortunatly i managed to crack this round. Tips: be honest through out this test.dnt try to give answer ideally.
Round: (Techniacal+HR interview) Experience: 1)tell us about yourself,summer training and family background. 2)tell us about your Automobile Project(hybrid vehicle challange 16) 3)what are the various types of hybrid vehicles? 4)tell me 5 examples of hybrid vehicles. 5)what was your role in team ? 6)what were design considerations in calculation of suspension? 7)why there is difference between front ride frequency and rear ride frequency?and how much should it be ideally? 8)what is pitching,rolling ,yawing,bounce and jounce.? 9)what are your strengths? 10)which area you need to improve in you and how you are improving it? 11)what do you want to do in your life? 12)why mechanical engineering.? i was interviewed on 27th december 2016. 6 people including me were selected out of 21.everyone was selected for R&D profile.
Tips: i was interviewed through video conferencing .its difficult to convince HR people on screen .try to be yourself and be clear and one more thing 1st question "tell us about yourself " is going to decide the direction of your interview.try to keep smile upon your face throughout the interview.

Round: Test Experience: The test started with the verbal ability reading and comprehension. Especially for Technical students you will have to improve your verbal skills as they strongly emphasize on them. Logical reasoning section is a little bit easy as for me I found it rather easy to handle. Mainly questions were on data interpretation and cubes and relations and ages, time and work. Moving on to the third and last section that comprises of quant is simple. It only checks your accuracy and speed. Just improve your basic fundamentals. In technical section , question from all mechanical subjects in sub-sections. It all checks your deep knowledge It also includes numerical type objective Tips: Refer India bix and at least start reading something to improve your vocabulary. Even by practicing at least each section from this site is quite enough. Do practice on youth4work also. For technical section improve your basics. Round: Group Discussion Experience: It was a long discussion case study where a common solution among group has to be presented for some issues regarding Inventory control and management facing by Mr. XYZ. Tips: Especially In Mahindra, Case study acts as decisive round where hr checks your ideas instead of your continuity. Be precise and strong towards your points and show your positive attitude with your group member Duration: 60 minutes
Round: Technical Interview Experience: Technical interview was a little bit tough as the hr asked me to explain my project and questions on my field of interest. They asked me especially from production fields and automotive technologies. Tips: Whatever language you know be ready to at least explain the logic asked about that language and don't try to go round and round over the topic just be clear and to the point. Be confident for your answers as fooling them will only lead to your rejection
Round: HR Interview Experience: My hr round lasted a mere 8 minutes. It includes all questions about myself, family, achievements, and interests. Tips: Just don't tremble in front of him and try to answer in a positive way.
General Tips: 1. Be confident 2. Prepare well in advance. Do not leave it to luck or last moment preparation. 3. Keep the interviewer concentrated in the direction where you are strong.
