4 Interview Rounds
Interview Preparation Tips
Round: WRITTEN
Experience: It is a written round .
We are given with 2 coding questions of 10 marks each .There is no negative marking for coding questions
1)Given a string you have to partition the string in such a manner that each part of the partitioned string is a palindrome in itself and you have to count the number of such partition
For eg: given string NITIN

So output will be 3.
2)You are given with a large paragraph and N words.
You have to find a min length subparagraph of the paragraph which contain all those N words in any order. Here length of a paragraph is the count of words in the paragraph.
There are 20 MCQ's all are technical questions only majorly from DSA
Tips: Coding it comes from practice . And for aptitude be good at fundamentals like time complexities etc .
Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Some times luck in interview is also important .I was unable to solve the second question initially ,but later with the help of my interviewer I was able to solve it .
Tips: Even if you are not able to solve the question initially don't be panic it will definitely go well
Round: Technical Interview
Experience: There are so many other questions . But sorry to say that I don't remember all of them ,if I remember them at some other time I will again update it here .
This round interviewer was very nice person And he is very helpful in fact .

Experience: I solved above question Using DFS .I constructed a Graph using given information . and I did DFS starting from Given process .In the graph I took each process as 1 Node and the corresponding parent child relationship between the process as edges .
Tips: They will give sufficient time for thinking of the solution . So don't worry immediately after seeing the question . First think well you will definitely get it

1) A, B and C jointly thought of engaging themselves in a business venture. It was agreed that A would invest Rs. 6500 for 6 months, B, Rs. 8400 for 5 months and C, Rs. 10,000 for 3 months. A wants to be the working member for which, he was to receive 5% of the profits. The profit earned was Rs. 7400. Calculate the share of B in the profit.

Experience: easily cleared written round as they were not so difficult and selection ratio was also good as 21 out of 40 students were selected.
Tips: only basic knowledge of all subjects.
remember all formulas and aspects of production engineering.

Experience: i had done this topic earlier so i had a favour .the group members were also good so fare chance to speak.
Tips: prepare from common and trendy topics and discuss it in group it will help you.
Duration: 7min minutes

Tips: prepare your internship and project well .

Experience: my hr interview was quite good as i presented my self well ,especially the last question i think gave me an edge as i told them about the profile of r&d as i always wanted to work in the sector so they seem satisfied.
Tips: be patient,tell them true things,some question dont have absolute answer so use your wit and answer it freely.

Experience: In Amcat you have 5 modules.For the preparation part RS agarwal would suffice for both quant and reasoning.But you must have some prior knowledge about how tackle these problems and a week would be enough.English part is pretty basic and there is very less to prepare for it.Overall If you have prepared for CAT or any campus placement written test you could easily score pretty well in Amcat. All the non-tech modules are very easy.Now coming to the Domain module they need to be taken seriously and to be prepared well.The question asked are of basic level of Electrical Engg. and you should know all the basics of your branch Electrical.
Electrical basics of all major subjects like Machines, Power system, Network theory, Control System and EMI.
Tips: For quants. go through RS Aggarwal, be sure that you solve both the solved questions and unsolved, they will help a lot in amcat and placement interviews.
Go through indiabix.com/m4maths.com for data sufficiency and other type questions, there are abundant questions given there and good practice.
Max to max a serious week prep. is needed for AMCAT. But remember to go through your electrical basics of all major subjects like Machines, Power system, Network theory, Control System and EMI.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: In short, the GD panel was not testing whether you know the topic well, they were tested whether you are able to present your point of view in a logical manner, whether you are interested in understanding what others feel about the same subject and are able to conduct yourself with grace in a group situation.
Tips: Read Newspaper.
Do public Speaking.
Do some Group discussions in your friends circle.
Speak relevant and logically so that it can convey to all.
Try to conclude very well.(Include all major points including yours that have been said by other people).
Round: Technical Interview
Experience: There were 2 people in the interview jury. Technical Interview was around 35 Minutes. They framed questions from my resume ,asked in detail about my third year Projects and technical questions were asked from Machines and Power System.
Tips: Interviewer can ask anything from your resume.About your summer internship, your minor and final year project.
They can ask "ANYTHING". So be thorough with your "Resume's Every Line and word", your Projects and Summer Internship.
As well as just go through all basics of major subjects like Machines, Power System, Network Theory.
Don't take pressure of interview, just assume you are sitting in a class viva.
Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was a hr cum situation based interview, in which he give me some organisational situations(Team work situations). He also asked some ethical questions. He only testing whether the candidate is fit for job or not
Tips: Your Extra curricular will gonna help you here :)
Take some time to understand the situation and then answer.
Be calm with your body language.
General Tips: Just believe in yourself :) :)

Experience: Another One on One Interview. Technical Questions on Languages/DataBases and Projects/Internships mentioned by you in your Resume. Lots of Puzzles.
In my case the Interviewer asked me questions on Database(3-4 queries),PHP,HTML,CSS,Internship,C/C++ Basics. Also I had 4 puzzles.

Experience: Key : Just be yourself and be Confident in whatever you say. Show your eagerness to learn things (even if you don’t want to ). If you don’t know anything, Confidently speak up you don’t know. They hardly care, they only see if you are willing to learn.
General Tips: I would add here that SGM is majorly into developing Trading application. SGM – GlobalMarketInstitute would provide you with 6 months of training in technology(Java/DotNet) and Finance(Share/Exchange/Equities etc), which would be a great experience. Hence a knowledge and interest in Share Trading stuff is highly appreciated if you plan to grow your career in Sapient Global Markets.(Bond Agreement of 1.5 years which includes 6 months of Training Period)
