Tip 1 : Before diving aimlessly into a sea of questions, try to create a roadmap for yourself. This roadmap will take into account your strengths and weaknesses and you should be allotting time accordingly.
Tip 2 : Companies like Samsung do check your resume and grill you accordingly. Make sure to have atleast 3 projects with 1 of them being pretty good.
Tip 3 : Ideally, all your projects should be deployed publicly: either on Github/Heroku/Kaggle/App Store depending on the type of development. This will give you an advantage over others.

Application resume tips for other job seekers

Tip 1 : Try not to lie. Only put things you are extremely confident about. You don't want to get blacklisted by the company.
Tip 2 : Try not to put trivial skills like Git/Github. Every developer is expected to know of these.
Tip 3 : Do not make any spelling mistakes on your CV. This just goes to show your carelessness.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: They first asked me to tell me about myself. Then I was asked to briefly explain what I did in my internship at SAIL in summer'16.Then they asked a few technical questions on the project (Modelling of a bio refinery using Indian agrowastes for energy and environmental analysis) that I was doing in that semester under one of my professors. Then they asked me about my favourite subject to which I answered, "Heat Transfer". So they asked me some basic questions on heat exchangers and related graphs.
Then one of the HRs asked me to tell about my career objectives followed by a few other questions like my strength, why CAIRN, what I would have pursued if not engineering, which location would I prefer- Rajasthan(where there is main plant of CAIRN) or Gurgaon(where there is main office of CAIRN but no plant).
Then they asked me if I had any questions to ask to which I asked them a few internship related queries. And this way, the interview ended.

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Experience: There were three panelists. As I went in, I was first asked to present my CV. All of them were asking questions together. One was asking technical questions related to chemical engineering while the other two were taking the HR interview. They were all very polite and gentle. At first. I had to tell them my 10th and 12th percentage and my ranks in JEE Main, JEE Advanced and WBJEE. Then I was asked why I chose chemical engineering and what were my areas or subjects of interest. I answered Mass transfer and Chemical Reaction Engineering. They were quite impressed to hear as they said I was the first one who mentioned it. I was mainly asked questions from distillation and gas absorption. All the questions were very basic and required clear understanding of the concepts. I was asked to give a brief summary about my industrial visit to RCF, Mumbai. I was also asked some questions on my ongoing project work at college. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

Interview Questions

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: Online Aptitude test. I attempted the verbal section firstly, since I was more confident on that part. After I was done with it, I opted for the questions of my domain and lastly the quant. Speed and accuracy were the deciding factors in that test.
Duration: 45 minutes
Total Questions: 45

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: I had chosen to speak for the Sales and I was the first one to counter the person who spoke for R&D. Key was to let other's speak, listen carefully to your counterparts and have a positive body language throughout to make the moderator feel that you are very much a team person as well as you've your own standpoint.
Duration: 20 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Technical interview was conducted face to face with 2 interviewers.
Tips: Accept what you don't know but steer the interviewers to your strong points. You have to be clear on your favorite subjects or on the previous internships or trainings done. The person sitting opposite to you will try to puzzle you on your own answers. Try to be very clear on what you say.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: HR interview was over phone call. What I felt as to crack a interview, you don't have to be too clever.
Tips: Don't panic and keep your mind free of any expectations beforehand. That's all about my personal experience. :)
