Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: It had 3 parts: Data manipulation, number series and calculations.

Round: Test
Experience: Technical test on C. Typical questions on what will be the output of the program.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Questions were based on various areas of CSE, especially Programming languages and thesis work. Questions on Database connectivity in Java , CGI, DFA, DMA etc were also asked.
Tips: ISL works 80% in java and 20% in C. Thus, prepare Java well before appearing for the IBM-ISL. Must have basic knowledge in databases, Operating systems.

5 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: It was divided into 4 sections, containing 10 questions each: Quantitative Analysis, English - Reading comprehension based, Flowcharts for filing missing information, logic and DI.
Question level was easier than CAT. 25 students were shortlisted.
Duration: 45 minutes
Total Questions: 40

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: 1st round of 15-20 minutes having Quant based questions – puzzles and brain teasers. They inquired about courses and asked to view a problem from different perspectives. A Case study of 7-8 minutes with involved discussion along with questions on Subprime crisis were also there.

Round: HR Interview
Tips: They are looking for Analytical Skills (No bookish answers), Communication Skills and a Quick thinker.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Discussions in detail on the field in which you have done your projects. General questions on Intern, BTP were asked.
Tips: Small tricky questions were asked all of which can be answered through the course Aircraft Design-1. Have sound core knowledge, aircraft design course is important.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: General discussion on extra-curricular, posts of responsibility also took place.
Tips: Show your interest in the company.

Experience: It was 20-25 minute round. 3-4 general puzzles were given. Questions about current affairs in the finance sector were asked.

Experience: Programming related (mostly algorithm related) and BTP and Intern (Microelectronics).

Experience: It was a 15-minute round. -DS related questions based on sorting and questions already solved in the DI test were discussed.
Tips: Preparations should be good in DI, DS and Probability & Stats.

Tips: DO attend PPT’s.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: There were 4 sections to the test:

1st section, verbal - 15 questions : CAT type 1 mark questions.
2nd section, probability: 3 marks questions based on probability and stats.
3rd section, finance: Finance with one/two marks question (10 -15 questions based on bonds, maintenance margin, etc not something which normal student would know unless one has some background.)
4th section, quant: quantitative ability with CAT type questions.
Tips: Do prepare for CAT and read Newspaper.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: It was a 10-12 min interview and the questions were generally based on internship project. There were no puzzles but some of my other batch mates were asked puzzles.
Tips: A good knowledge of Probability-Stats will be helpful. Have at least one attractive project, know all about it and try to drive your interview.

Round: HR Interview
Tips: Make sure you attend the PPT. Note some statistics and some attractive points which are mentioned during the PPT.

General Tips: Talk to seniors who are working there, make sure you know the work properly.

Tips: Accuracy will matter and preparations for CAT will help.

Round: Test
Experience: 30 questions on Technical knowledge - Basic C, DS, Microprocessor, OS, Networks, Circuit Designs.
20 questions on Aptitude.
Total Questions: 50

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: It was a 25-30 minute round. Apart from the questions mentioned, they asked questions related to BTP(Signal Processing) and Microprocessor 8085.
Tips: Basic C, EE 370 and Microprocessor 8085 will be helpful. They will look for Networks related questions. Revise the related courses and attend PPTs.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: It was a 15-minute round.

General Tips: Analytical thinking is important and you should have good technical knowledge and a decent academic record.

4 Interview Rounds

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: It was an online test. The company who hosted the test messed up with the interface, and a lot of people had trouble with a coding question that could not be solved because of the faulty interface. There was no retest.
The shortlisting was done after studying compile attempts, time devoted to various sections and other performance measures.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Told about myself, my interests, my internship projects and my work so far.
A few coding questions were asked too.
In the end, they asked if i have any questions.
Tips: Interviewers are friendly. Be calm, give your best.

General Tips: Start preparing early.
Develop priorities both sector wise and company wise.
Take sufficient water and food with you. Interviews can start at 4 am on the first day!
Have enough copies of resume and transcripts with you.
If you have been shortlisted for many companies, it is preferable to have a portfolio manager who manages your phone during the day and enables you to focus on the interviews.

Round: Test
Experience: Online test for personality profile was taken. They were looking for someone to fit into the corporate environment.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: There were 2 rounds to this interview. Each round was of 20-25 minutes. The panel consisted of 4 people. They wished to know if I had problems with mobility, i.e., it is good if one does not have problem related to mobility. They encouraged students to ask questions to them.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Apart from the mentioned questions, they also asked about MBA and career plans. They were looking for leadership qualities, confidence, passionate people, and ability to handle responsibilities.
Tips: Speak on something you are good at. Courses to be well versed in. “Petroleum Processing Engineering” will be helpful.
