Case Study Round

VC wants to invest x amount in Byjus, after how many years will it get back the investment.
[Please note that I stands for Interviewer and C stands for Candidate]

I: Which sector/industry you are comfortable with?

C: Education sector (as I have done my project related to that).

I: I am a VC and want to invest x amount in Byjus, after how many years will I get back my investment?

I: Use your phone to get as much information as possible and tell me exact number of years after 2 minutes and also the parameters that you considered.

C: Searched about the valuation of Byjus,expected growth potential, inflation rate, future
projects.

Communicated the parameters I looked upon with reasoning and said that it will take approximately 5 years to get back investment.

I: Profitability of the company is also very important and should have also been incorporated in decision making.

C- Explained about my school, college and work ex.

I- Which sports do you like?

C- I told them cricket.

I- How will you bring 5 young players to nationals
from your hometown ?

C- I mentioned about collaborating with State cricket board and build an academy focused on identifying new talent.

I- This is star India and as you know from our GD we like creative stories. Describe your life as a story in short and how your friends describe
you.

C- I brought in some additional points and told about personal qualities.

I- What did you do to solve the case in your marketing internship (I did one and mentioned about a Case which I solved))

C- I started from problem statement and mentioned the solution of that case.

Later interview ended and important thing is to be strong in HR questions and don't get too focused on talking about one domain (It was marketing in
my case)

C: I mentioned about my project and discussed the findings and actionable.

I: Let’s do a short case. How would you modernize a traditional retail store?

C: I asked for some time to gather my thoughts and build the approach. I tried to cover the entire supply chain from procurement to storage to in-store operations and at each step, suggested new methods or improvement in existing methods being followed.

Group Discussion Round

8 Topics.
Topics were mostly based on some kind of dilemma. I made 1-2 entries in every topic, speaking for at least 30-60 seconds.

Made it through the GD. Taking a stance and building on it seemed enough in such a short GD.

Very organised GD, kept a happy face on.

6-7 minutes for each topic (including topic introduction and conclusion).

New joiner in your firm. He is well experienced but still not liked by his colleagues. What should you do as manager?

Pollution due to one of your plants. What should you do?

A country is planning to attack. You are low on funds. How to proceed?

There is a football finals tomorrow, 2 star players are injured and 2 good substitutes are available. Its an important game. What should you do being a team selector.
