Interview Questions

  • Q1. Interviewer asked about the projects and Fundamentals of JAVA and also Database questions especially on foreign keys and basic concepts of DBMS.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: We were to write a test which had 2 sections in which first section had multiple choice questions related to oops and programming concepts and in the second section we were given tables and we had to write sql queries as given in the question.
Tips: Strong oops concepts and DBMS Concepts are required
Duration: 1 hour
Total Questions: 20

Round: Technical + HR Interview
Tips: Projects and research papers and CV must be revised thoroughly. As said earlier basics of JAVA and DBMS must be clear.

Experience: I did both coding question ( 1 full and 2nd partial ) and 5 MCQ only and was shortlisted
Tips: Refer to interview sets on Geeksforgeeks.
Do solve both the coding questions first. Not necessary to pass all test cases for both.
Then go for C based o/p questions. At last aptitude.
Duration: 60 minutes
Total Questions: 23

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: I did not know JAVA and DBMS so could not answer any of the last 2 questions. I told him directly thati had no experience in JAVA / DBMS and justified. I had proficiency in Data Structure and Algorithms and I beleive the interviewer liked my internship work on Cloud / Virtualization
Tips: Focus on Data Strucure-Algorithms, JAVA, DBMS, Puzzles

Experience: All repeated questions from previous interviews.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: For the first question, I started by exponential solution and reduced it to polynomial. We
discussed various approaches and tried a variety of methods and after
1-1.5 hrs of discussion finally ended up with an O(1) solution with some
pre-processing overhead. After achiveing O(1) time complexity, he asked
to further optimize the space complexity.

Usage of Trie / TST. Internal Implementation of Hashing structure and replacing the hashing mechanism using Trie / TST.
Tips: Focus on Tree, Stacks, Queue, Linked List, Hash Maps, Trie, Hashing, String Algorithms, Ternary Search Tree

Round: HR Interview
Experience: Typical HR

General Tips: Practice programming
Skill Tips: Focus on Data Structure-Algorithms and programming in either C++ / JAVA

Experience: Easy and repetitive questions. Low cut-offs ( every one qualified this round )
Tips: Practice past year questions from indiabix. IBM GBS / ISL have common aptitude test

Experience: Questions from - Operating Systems ( process / deadlocks ), Computer Networks ( basics and numericals ), Tree based questions, DBMS basic query, OOPS using C++
Tips: Basics of each. Not in-depth. I solved questions from OS / Data Structure-Algorithms and some C++ OOPS based questions only. CLeared the cut-off
Duration: - minute
Total Questions: -

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: Resume shortlisting. Pointer appeared to have some weightage. Everyone above 8 CPI was selected. I was the only one below 8 as far as i remember.
Tips: 1-page CV. Modify your CV according to opening. My profile demanded focus on OS / Computer Networks. 2 main projects. Don't mention anything that you are not confident about. Future interviews were Resume based for me.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Each discussion started with what all i did in the project followed by qucik cross-questions based on what i said. Asked me for my technical skills. I had only C and C++ in the languages. Asked if i knew any other language, to which i said I don't since none of my projects involved any language other than C/C++, but I would be willing to learn any new language if needed.
Tips: Be thorough with the projects. Don't worry too much about languages and haveing a huge technical skill set

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Cross questioned from whatever i answered
Tips: -

General Tips: Focus on practical details instead of studying just theory. Stay confident.
Skill Tips: Focus in accordance iwth the profile being offered. My job profile required proficiency in OS / Computer Networks and hence the entire interviews were based on these two.
Skills: Operating System, Computer Networks, System Programming ( Basic ), C++, OOPS using C++
