Round: Essay writing Experience: Random topic was given to write an essay consisting not. More than 800words Tips: Be extremely cautious about the content you write
Round: Technical + HR Interview Experience: Technical and Hr took place at the same time.. Very less technical questions were asked. Tips: Do not try to be overconfident, just be yourself at this round and you would get selected
College Name: Heritage Institute Of Technology, Kolkata
Round: Test Experience: In aptitude test there was sectional cut-off, reasoning paper was easy and the verbal one was average but the main problem was sectional cut-off which I think was high so be accurate and attempt a lot (there was no negative marking). Also just don’t go for fluke like marking all B’s.
Reasoning Section: 5 ques on Odd one out(figure detection)(again easy) 5 ques on Data Interpretation(average) 2 ques on Puzzle(each having 5 questions)(not so easy) 5 ques on positions(a bit difficult and time taking) 5 ques on Syllogism(need practice)
Verbal Section: Two passages and 5 question from each passages(Do it at the last as passages are lengthy and time taking. Also before reading the passage see the question once and collect words while reading Q) Sentence Correction(Be careful about tense mistake, spelling mistake, using of pronoun… My opinion mark the option which clicks you first and don’t waste too much time on this part..) Fill in the Blanks(These were mostly prepositions and using appropriate words) Theme Detection Identification of some supporting or weakening sentences about a paragraph given. Just prepare well for online aptitude test as interview is an easy part(in case of Infosys I should say as they select aprroximately 90% of students who had cleared the aptitude) Tips: 1. Even if you are going for fluke then also do it smartly because I think they even checked that. 2. Time management is very important in Verbal Section. Duration: 75 minutes Total Questions: 70
Round: HR Interview Experience: It was not a stress panel and it was an one to one interview.
HR was cool and polite. In HR, a lady was in front of me. She asked for CV and i gave it to her.
All questions were from my CV, asked me about my achievements and all. She asked me to give an example of my leadership quality…and a bit of questions on my hobbies. Then the last question was how do I plan before my exams?
Round: Technical Interview Experience: There was a gentleman in front of me. He introduced himself very nicely. Then he asked me to tell about myself as a general question. Then some questions from CV and then switch to technical part. Heasked me from linked list, array, pointer, pillars of Java, asked me to write code to find prime numbers, and code to factorial of a number. Then he asked why I wanna join IT. Then asked me to gave an example where I supposed to help my team technically. He was just testing my confidence level and my attitude…then asked me about relocation and checked my dedication towards my work..he was convinced with my answers… I felt that all that is needed is positive attitude..I was just thinking to give my best…and trying to show myself as I am… I noticed that no matter how well we are preparing for hr questions, if I am really good and have a positive attitude then none of my answers can be such bad rather they must be impressed by myself…and even if my communication is not that good but the words which I have used to keep myself in front of them was really very impressive…I was very very confident…and one more thing I have to walk about 2-3 mins to reach the interviewer desk…and they noticed my movement whether I am nervous or not…and I think it also matters……overall at was a nice experience.

Round: Coding Round Experience: I took a coding test on HackerEarth in the first round. There were two simple questions: 1) Parenthesis matching 2)Converting Infix to Postfix expression. Time limit was 2 hours. I did my program in C so had to struggle a bit for taking input in the second program. The infix expression had to be entered character by character. Tips: In C, the input format for character is: scanf("%c ", &ch); (There should be a space after %c which I didn't know by then.)
Round: Technical Interview Experience: I was asked to write some recursion programs in C++ using vectors. I didn't have much knowledge in C++ so they gave me a tutorial yo refer syntax for C++. I was able to do all of them. The interviewers helped me with the syntax.
