Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

Good learning and mentorship, especially for freshers. Lots of exposure to different and interesting projects and categories

Dislikes

Sandwich policy, no WFH flexibility, micromanagement culture, extra unpaid responsibilities like HR, Social Media, Political research, Accounts, Operations, etc. Being run like a startup despite being a 16 year old company

Everything. There is no respect. Politics, hippocrarcy leads the affairs here. The directors encourage these things. They dont train people. Even the people just below the directors do not have skills to lead or to carry out work. The directors still work in the old fashioned autocratic way.
