It had been a wonderful and extremely positive experience of 5 years and 11 months working as an editor in Viva Books. It is a great organisation and a right place for an editor to grow and develop their skills every day. I have got great opportunities to work with Sangeeta Gupta ma'am and Ms Akanksha Dudpuri (Managing Editor). They have been the most supportive people who welcomed creativity at all times and helped me explore and grow as per the requirements of my job profile. Ms Akanksha Dudpuri is a superb team manager. She actively indulges in seeking different points of views and creative solutions from her team members. She keeps on experimenting ways to deliver products in time. Management at the organisation is approachable and provides support in its maximum capacity to the employees whenever needed. There are unlimited opportunities at Viva Books to explore and advance your career. I wish the company all the success in the future.

I have learned a lot working there. Work culture and ethics are absolutely amazing. My manager, Akanksha mam, was always there to guide me. She is a support system for the editors. She made me feel at ease and motivated me whenever I felt low. I think it is because of her that I grew better in my work and moved for better opportunities. Work load was not much and salary was in accordance with the industry standard. Overall it was a great experience.

There is not much to be happy at such a place. Company has not taken any steps to support the employees. Employees have been laid off.

The work culture is poor. Incompetent and sycophant employees are rewarded for sucking up to top management. There are no learning opportunities neither any chance of professional growth and development.

Some seniors were helpful, nothing else to like

Dislikes

Poor work culture, no training is given and utmost quality work is expected by trainee editors, so called managing editor humiliates all the team members, she lacks soft skills, maybe because she is under experienced for the role, she leaves errors in her work and blames people who have left the company for those errors, like recently she blamed a fellow trainee editor of mine who left the organisation, for something she let go for printing without reading it herself. She accepted she did not read it as she thought those are just some flow charts, but somehow blamed the trainee editor who had left the organisation, firstly, you cannot trust a six-months fresher to bring out the final book, each and everything a fresher works upon should be checked by a senior, how simple is that? she calls senior editors to her desk and humiliates them. there is zero appreciation and only humiliation, Most freshers leave the organisation just because how this ME treats them
