The new joiners are treated as god 3-4 months. One can ask the country manager for 50% raise in the salary within a few months of joining provided you don't have competition in your department but do not fall in this trap else, your life will be miserable. I was promoted from Project coordinator to AVP post. But, the drawback is when you leave the company, some other companies will see your experience and not the designation.

Micro level management. No ethics. Abusive environment by top management. Safety for women is a serious concern. Top management will keep taps on personal issues and will only show grave concern for employees and use against them. The HQ management is behind setting up SAP in India since pandemic but the top management in India is lingering around and not implementing it (take the hint), Top management will play politics with employees and the HQ team in HongKong.

If you are desperately required for the job by the company, then the MD can make you the VP even though you are at executive level. You could get to travel abroad once in a while and could get gifts / vouchers sent by the OEMs. Nothing is transparent in this company. The India MD will suck your life away. Until you are useful to him, he will literally use you and will cajole you coz he will not have any other option. There are frauds happening and they bribe to the client to retain them. They dodge the audits. There is no formal system in place due to the corrupt Indian MD as his other income will stop. The environment is not safe of women. The MD will intentionally ask ladies to wait in the office without any work. He will call you at wee hours and definitely on weekends. You will not see him in office until noon. He enjoys torturing the company's employees. One thing that you will learn in all this process is, you will start valuing your family.

Sadly the HK management doesn't get involved in the Indian proceedings - they are just there for checking revenue and numbers. As there is no standard process for anything, you will never get formal appraisal letters. The appraisal happens in very secret way. The one who gets increment gets told that he/she shouldn't inform colleagues. The MD shoots everytime via HR. He doesn't even have guts to face the employee if the employee tires to confront him. Poor HR/ admin has to take all the blame. Employee's roles and responsibilities are not clear. You will never ever get an offer letter with written roles and responsibilities.
