Work life balance is the only thing that stands out, now that we cannot enjoy our travel benefits anymore give COVID

Dislikes

1. Compensation and salary negotiation - majorly the HR is the worst. No “hearing” the employees, no actual impact to help people, not compensating per market value 2. Growth opportunities saturate beyond a point in India 3. Type of work is not very exciting

Poor management in India Knowledge Center (IKC) No opinion or stand of local management blindly follow US entity. IKC act just like a service base company and considers US entity as internal client.

The department is growing, they are hiring more people in India. The work is good, you will get plenty of work to feel satisfied with your job but you may not get good level of knowledge development opportunities. But overall the work culture is good if you learn some skill to be up to date.

Growth is slow, The tiers are unnecessary over classified, Even with 6-7 years of experience you turn out to be developer II which is slightly weird as compared to the standards in other companies. They don’t have parking in their premises, even though they always say that there is plenty of parking, you will realize the reality if you come to office (hybrid mode) via car, you are done. Strict improvements are needed for the above parameters, atleast the parking one🙏🏻

Flight benefits, technically more beneficial for US employees. Not much options for India employees.

Leadership has no vision. The position they hired 6 months or an year back can become redundant over night. And they have no clue what to do with them and at last they can then ask their employees to quit over a short notice without taking much care about the employees career and financial liabilities. Also company does not offer parental insurance by default and employees need to bear the additional premium costs from their salaries. And there are multiple such practices the Indian entity of this company does. Which clearly suggests how they operate without much empathy with their employees. Policies are not employee well being centric. Advice to management: Even though the parent company is a well known Airline in US/Global aviation. Indian entity aka UA India knowledge Center operates just like a service base company. There is nothing wrong being a service base company but you should stop advertising yourself to potential candidates as Captive or Product based company if you have a service mindset.

The opportunity to fly.

Dislikes

The fact that it was employees were not encouraged to help the new employees. It was always on Chavez against yellow vest management was not supportive. It was Hella training 126 videos just to get started. It was very dangerous easy to get ingested by plane, they rushed you off from one gate to another at the O’Hare Airport they had you won’t be 24 when they tell you to go to B 2, like that was right around the corner they had bad equipment they had tractors they didn’t have brakes and seatbelts that wouldn’t charge had no scanners was losing customers bags and then try to blame it on. You always made a new people work the pit when was hot but yes, overall just bad vibes people wasn’t really friendly and and United did it and try to get that employees to really work together. It was also a very dangerous job that’s why I left they had you working Mandatory overtime? Those people sitting around not working I was part time will be on the cell phone for hours and eight Wednesday 9 to 1 would like to work the person to like me for eight hours and then still wanted me to do mandatory overtime.
