your job will not come with a scope of learning, systems and processes are old, and people are not much inclined to move to new tech as most staff is 35-40+ and just counting days to retirement. There are no promotion opportunities because of the existing staff that chooses not to leave. They won’t let you learn new skills and apply them on the job because that would mean for them to learn that skill or be outperformed by you.
Great place if you are a “yes man” and love brown nosing your bosses.
But if you are not, better stay away.
...d work life balance for staff and provide necessary tools to upskill themselves. Yearly salary raise is guaranteed one but it doesn't mean performance goes unmeasured. Bank is like guardian next to your family which wouldn't let down its staff in times of need such Covid, Drinking water crisis, 2015 floods to name a few. Recruitment process is thorough and time-consuming, one has to have patience to keep applying for positions and God's grace if you got inside the bank, it's like central govt job. I've been there, seen it, loved it and have no regrets at all.
Many people who comes into the bank do not want to go out and hence it becomes extremely difficult to get inside the bank as new joiner or for promotions be it vertical or horizontal. Onsite opportunities are available but getting through its again purely through skill and rapport (networking).
Absent in major cities. Majority vacancy is available in Chennai, which is not an ideal city to settle down.

Senior Leadership does not walk the talk(sometimes they don't even have basic respect for you unless you are a noise-maker), Hard decisions are avoided by Senior leaders including avoiding the topic altogether and ghosting you when you keep writing expecting a response, Major employee facing offers / campaigns are communicated only when it benefits leadership, Employees who make the most noise gets almost everything even if what they are saying may not be completely rational - anyone who does not raise their voice or keeps escalating - loses out even on things they are eligible for
Liberty and understanding towards to personal and professional life.

For STC and STT there are no jobs opening within WB. For extension one has to reach out to individual permanent staff and asking for work is very time consuming and embarassing. There should be market within WB for STC/STT.
