Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

The institution is one of the best boarding cum day English Medium ICSE and ISC schools in the valley of Ketti in The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. Discipline is maintained in all aspects of teaching, extra curricular and Sports both at the Intra and Inter School Level. Career gives absolute satisfaction. Growth opportunities are optimal. The Syllabus is demanding and hard work is a must. The school works like clock work and is a boon to both students from 5 year olds to 18 and teaching and non teaching Staff.

Dislikes

Tests and exam schedules are stressful. The management though rewards staff with gifts, could appreciate service rendered periodically. Compensation is decent, but growth could be higher.
