Confused about Salary negotiations
CTC - 8 LPA Loc - Bengaluru, India I have been working in the same company for the last 5 years. My salary went from 3.6 LPA to 8 LPA over the years. I recently put papers, and, started giving interviews. I got an offer from TCS for 15 LPA(12.8 fixed). For more than a month, I've been giving interviews, asking for 18 LPA and many HRs are rejecting straight away, citing it is more than 100% hike from my current CTC. I kept trying and now I am selected for 5 companies - Iris Software, Capgemini, Quantzig Analytics, PwC, HCL, Infinite. Salary discussions are about to start and I'm confused. I'm not good at this. Can anyone suggest?

Job security. They don't fire people usually. Work hard if you want to go up else stay lazy and still you will survive.

Dislikes

No salary hikes for long term employees. Best is to serve for 5 years and get out to earn more, otherwise you will end up at same salary even after 5 years. TCS don't care much about employees and their expertise/experience. It's huge organisation with 6 Lacs employees. If you resign, no worries, someone from 6 Lacs will replace you.

Work culture is amazing. Work life balance is also great. But with someone like me who needs work and wants to constantly learn, tcs wasn’t the place to start. It’s good for mid level careers, not for freshers.
