The work life balance is on spot. Managers do not look over your shoulders to see if you have completed your work. Remote first option was great and office joining in COVID was very smooth. Team members were very helpful and approachable.

Not a dislike per se but I did wish that promotions were a bit more transparent.

India & Global - Super office politics, headless management with no sense of business behaving like medieval queens and kings. Poor quality of outdated products. Not in line with current market requirements and Government policies. Favoring and promoting only favorites. The MD is a total no.

The environment is very leaner friendly and all processes are extremely transparent and organised. Your job role is clearly defined and the decisions you make here come with a lot of freedom. There is ample opportunity to grow here as a true professional.

It's a very nice to place if you are looking for seeking opportunities in future and your personal growth. This is a 200 year old company with a startup mindset.

Good activities and lots of parties, huge brand in humanities publishing.

Dislikes

A short stint left a bad flavour in my mouth. The amount of negative politics and aggression is hard to work with. Few people control the game in this small business and it’s all about keeping these people happy who in turn get favours from global offices. It’s just an MNC for namesake and works more like a Lala firm run by few big shots with high ego. I am surprised how no one wrote about the politics although most people are not Happy. It’s a major humanities brand in the world of publishing but neglect all other areas. The name won’t help them survive long in a dynamic changing business world, their ideas are too primitive and downfall has started. No one cares about employees or even customers , just focus on pleasing internal power centres. Hope the Global management changes its policies, otherwise young people won’t work here.
