The pay structure is still good for freshers and employee related benefits are good. However, i have worked only in Tata Steel and hence not aware about the benefits which other companies provide.

Growth opportunities are limited. Extreme bureaucracy and things move really slow.

Likes

Highly secure job with decent salary and benefits. Opportunity to learn many things provided a strong case is provided. Good synergy with plant operations which helps in knowledge enhancement. Robust system in place to easily convert work into patents.

Dislikes

More emphasis on results rather than quality of research. Employees are encouraged to delegate detailed research to interns or professors through collaborations, which stunts technical ability development of self. Can often be made to work overtime and on weekends. High chances of spending most of your time chasing administrative actions rather than research. Few managerial positions due to which promotions are rare over career.

No growth of the employees. No future at tata Steel mining for employees, on the Company making his own profit

Salary structure was not good very low pay sacale at here in hand salary was the 50% of the actually ctc

Family welfare and Job flexibility , 5 days working,

Dislikes

Practical follow ups and considerations for bottommost level, Nothing is free, Attractive CTC but lowest in-hand salary, Canteen facility and wallet of food, Transport facility as per MNC level.

The culture at Tata is the best. Your colleagues motivate you to learn and become better every year. Also the colleagues and seniors are very helpful and supportive

Dislikes

Compensation is slightly less compared to the industry standards
