Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

7th pay commission salary. West Bengal State Scale. That's all.

Dislikes

Where does one even start! The work culture is absolutely horrifying. Hire and fire culture is rampant. The students misbehave a lot. The higher management supports their behaviour. Teachers are insulted frequently. Arbitrary rules and regulations imposed often. Zero work life balance. Hyper toxic management. Non teaching staff think they rule the place. Brown-nosing is celebrated.
