Good natured people.

... Anyway I performed very well, got great feedback from my manager and customer. Even management was happy, but when it was appraisal time, I got a salary raise that was hardly above average. I worked through the year for a good raise and kept telling my seniors that it was imp to me. My peers compared to who I gave far more outcomes who had not given more than 100% (like me) were almost at same salary as me after the year. I felt ill treated and hurt. What is the use of working extra and hard? To soliton team, u have to treat ppl who give more outcome, better appraisals (being very raw right now for helping good talent in soliton and most importantly you). Top performers in other companies are given as much as 50%-100% hikes and I did not even ask that much. You should know this data, it is not govt job with fixed hike and tenure based system. I knw you're having good intentions in heart & that's why I'm writing this review to help you keep good talent. Good financial growth is my ambition and for extra few lakhs you lost a very committed and passionate person. Pls remember this and hope u learn. Not mentioning poor work life balance because I think it was my fault only to give so much personal time to work expecting a little more growth. Probably you went and hired a new lead at higher salary, lose lose situation. Best of luck

- good pay - work from home - small teams (sometimes it's a con)

Dislikes

- No role clarity, everyone is expected to fulfil or play any role, thanks to improper planning and insufficient allocation. - No technical growth beyond mid-level, no real tech experts. Seen evidently over many years where experts keep going out and not enough lateral recruits to replace them. - unfair comparisons affect appraisal. Often people are compared with completely unrelated projects or opportunities. - a false promise of flexible timings. Based on the clients' time zone (mostly US), you WILL have to stay back late at least 3 days a week. - Above all, the culture is sub-par. There is no clear vision or direction. Recent change in leadership has adversely affected the culture across verticals in the company.

...oliton in the past few years is on a purple patch and it's expected to continue. If your performance is good, you can expect close to 30% increment in salary every year. - Lots of responsibilities and exposure at a young age. I led a project of 3 engineers when I was only 3 year experienced. At 5-6 years of experience, you get to act at managerial level. It doesn't mean, responsibility is thrust early. For someone willing to go higher, age and experience is not a factor to stop you.

- Work life balance can take a hit at times. It depends on the project, client and other factors. But still, it is something that could be improved. But the interesting fact is that this is an area Soliton management tries really hard to improve and they are open to all suggestions to make it better. But sometimes things do happen beyond control. - For some niche areas, there is a lack of expertise among seniors. So individuals have to learn on their own. I wouldn't consider this a big deal for someone who prefers self learning. Especially when internet is the best teacher possible.

One of the standout aspects of working at Soliton Technologies is its welcoming and supportive company culture. The culture here is not just good but also incredibly nurturing, providing an ideal environment for personal and professional growth. This is particularly beneficial for individuals who are in the early stages of their careers/ freshers out of college. The company encourages innovative thinking, which, in theory, fosters a creative and collaborative work environment. While this was encouraging, the practical application of these innovative ideas faced challenges due to project constraints and prioritization. The diverse range of projects offered the opportunity to gain experience across different domains, which was a valuable aspect of my tenure. However, I would have appreciated more flexibility in exploring different domains and opportunities for skill development.

Regarding career development, the organization does offer growth prospects; however, a more structured career development plan could provide a clearer path for advancement and align individual career goals with company objectives. Innovation was encouraged, but practical implementation faced challenges due to project constraints. The balance between innovation and project deliverables could be more effectively managed. There were challenges related to planning and workload distribution, impacting my performance. Improved coordination between teams would have enhanced collaboration. Expectations around work hours and work-life balance needed clarity and consistency.
