all approvals including rewards, work from home is manager driven. If manager is understanding, then its fine but some managers are clearly not flexible enough with not much facilities given to ladies in case of Work from home even when she is expecting. If you have already won a reward then that also has to be approved by the manager and sometimes he takes forever to approve it even when you have already won it.

Work life balance. And incase if you are a female employee then they will take more care.

Dislikes

No job security, reorganization happens in every 6 months, when it comes to pay your overall package looks really good but the variable portion is very high, which in last 2 years we have not received. Also the on boarding is worst among any companies and I am talking much earlier than covid19. They finalized with me in July and I joined in mid April next year. There is absolutely no benefits, even the parental insurance is highest in the market. On top they keep calling themselves the best in every aspect.

Skill set and job role mismatch Job security is a myth , it varies as per management interests If your Line Manager is good, then something can happen else you are on your own No one cares about you once you enter the company Rigid managers and no flexibility in changing roles or moving internally in the company Team and your project colleagues matter else rarely anyone will help you once you enter a project Fear of job is always there under the recent new management with lots of changes happening regularly in name of reorg/restructuring HR support is only for namesake, they are here to protect company’s interests, not yours

Lots of opportunities for growth. Flexible working possible, if aligned with manager. Ample importance given to learning and upskilling. Care during covid times. Transparency from management on decisions made.

Dislikes

Bonus is very fluctuating, depends heavily on company performance. Health insurance could be improved.

Likes

1) Good Pay.. Would be quite difficult to grab the job outside as other companies may struggle to match SHELL salary. 2) Good culture maintained. 3) Respect each other. 4) Impressive HSSE environment maintained.

Dislikes

1) In my whole tenure, Shell is the best place to work with. However in recent years, I see a big threat on job security. That is the major concern. Sudden decision on the organisation changes puts all the employees at risk. In recent 5 years, I am seeing every year they brought major changes across business and FO. Of course it is enviable and understandable. However they should also think from employee perspective as well. I hope Shell will look into this and take appropriate action. 2) Job profiles can be little bit interesting.
