New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward
I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

...ove laterally also untill you are with them for 4yrs. This is very demotivating. Salary is not as per the experience that people bring.

Dislikes

all approvals including rewards, work from home is manager driven. If manager is understanding, then its fine but some managers are clearly not flexible enough with not much facilities given to ladies in case of Work from home even when she is expecting. If you have already won a reward then that also has to be approved by the manager and sometimes he takes forever to approve it even when you have already won it.

Work life balance. And incase if you are a female employee then they will take more care.

Dislikes

No job security, reorganization happens in every 6 months, when it comes to pay your overall package looks really good but the variable portion is very high, which in last 2 years we have not received. Also the on boarding is worst among any companies and I am talking much earlier than covid19. They finalized with me in July and I joined in mid April next year. There is absolutely no benefits, even the parental insurance is highest in the market. On top they keep calling themselves the best in every aspect.

Getting salary on 6th of every next month Project team is good

Dislikes

Female line managers are terrible, they do lots of politics and will try to gather information from projects in a secret way which breaches transparency of the organisation. The line managers are purely non technical and have no idea what's going on with the project still they will try to act oversmart.
