... since a long time promote favouritism without having any technical knowledge 4. Low compensation, even lower than most Indian startups and SSIR. Forget FAANG! 5. High attrition for good engineers 6. Crazy security protocols, lot more than any FAANG. You will feel that you are writing some code for the CIA, when the actual code some PoC and testing! 7. Never confuse SRIB with Samsung. There's hell lot of difference in work, culture and compensation between SRIB and Samsung Korea/US. You would be highly disappointed if you join SRIB considering the brand name of Samsung. 8. Worst quality laptops are given to employees 9. No idea why everyone considers Samsung HQ and Korean as the godfather. Even this type of weird culture is absent in Google or Amazon India.

Work life balance is good and starting pay is decent. You get to travel to Korea on business trips.

Dislikes

Career growth/ learning, development is often stagnant or in negative direction. Rating policy and increment system is inherently flawed. Day to day work importance is not given.(Side projects like patent and professional test will decide your annual rating even if someone work 10hrs/day)

The work culture is not upto the mark. Pay is not upto the mark. Learning opportunities are not there. All samsung noida does is what Korea tells. No innovation takes place , no driven individuals in management. Worst company to join.

Likes

Poor appraisals and no salary hike. They would say that you deserve the hike but they can't give it. Very bar company policies. Only good thing about the place is free transport and food.

Dislikes

A lot of politics and very less growth opportunities. The actual work you do doesn't matters, but showing off the work done matters the most. No work life balance and below industry standard compensation. Poor employee care.

My team is great. The knowledge exchange and hence peer learning is something that I like most here. But, Samsung is totally not supporting us in this lockdown. Most companies provided their employees with WFH infrastructure setup to help tackle the WFH limitations but Samsung did not. On asking about it, they said Samsung employees have that already with them. So, they assumed that every one has WFH setup when not even once in Samsung's history there was WFH and also with the petty salary they give to the employees. They even made a discrimination between WFH in Bangalore and Work From Hometown. We are not allowed to work from hometown for more than 4 weeks.

A lot of things. 1. Poor pay. Discrimination in pay. Everyone will be doing the same job but a person from IIT will earn more and from a tier 3 college will earn less for the same job. 2. Worst management. They totally don't care what employees need. 3. Petty promotion policies. No extra pay raise on promotion. A Chief Engineer who was from some private college and working in Samsung for 8 years might be earning less money than a fresher from an IIT. 4. Owing to their adamant nature, Samsung has asked their employees, who went home before lockdown and were stuck there, to return to Bangalore without caring about their safety and that too unnecessarily. 5. Security checks at every step as if we are not employees but thieves. I can go on and on but it is not going to matter for Samsung because they will shrug it off. People want jobs, they will definitely come here. My advice, unless you are in a desperate need for a job, don't come here. Even if you have an offer from Samsung, keep trying for some other companies. They will make you feel like you are in a jail here.
