Brand value. Good salary. Too much politics. Everybody is pulling each other legs. If you are an IITian you should definitely join samsung. You will enjoy here. You will get the retention bonus, favourism and no need to work. You can prepare for competition with extra money. But if you are not IITian, then you have to work and HR/manager will sit on your chest everyday. You will not get recognition, promotion or increment. If you want to work then work else go. Nobody cares.

Dislikes

Bell curve Less job security. You can be fired anytime No skill development No work life balance. You are sitting idle but you have to complete 9 hours in office. May be in future they will monitor your mouse movement. HR are useless. Don't know why they are in the company.

...ome good company of a few fellow employee in Samsung. I learned a lot from them. Other than that compensation and benefits are good.

Top management his very dishonest and even cheat and fake in the name of research. Internal politics are terrible. Nobody in the management have the guts or backbone to say something to Korean counterparts neither they have knowledge or capability to do research work.

Do not confuse between Samsung and Samsung R&D (the former will have better ratings/reviews on glassdoor/ambitionbox as it is purely sales/marketing/corporate/operations/manufacturing. The engineering is under Research (SRI-Bangalore/Noida) Brand Name Free and variety of good food Initial Hike while onboarding Top Management Job security Princely treatment for a month just before SCI(samsung culture index survey) which impacts line managers/leads If you stay here for 5y+ then be sure to retire here because no other company would hire you dumbs. Hence people completing 10/15/20 glorious years

Even then IIT/NITians leave within 2-3yrs span bcz of declining growth. 8. Substandard development 9. Only focus on long approval/workflow security processes 10. Politics at its best 11. All achievements like best employers is for Samsung Research America/Canada dont be fooled thinking its India because they promote it that way.

... since a long time promote favouritism without having any technical knowledge 4. Low compensation, even lower than most Indian startups and SSIR. Forget FAANG! 5. High attrition for good engineers 6. Crazy security protocols, lot more than any FAANG. You will feel that you are writing some code for the CIA, when the actual code some PoC and testing! 7. Never confuse SRIB with Samsung. There's hell lot of difference in work, culture and compensation between SRIB and Samsung Korea/US. You would be highly disappointed if you join SRIB considering the brand name of Samsung. 8. Worst quality laptops are given to employees 9. No idea why everyone considers Samsung HQ and Korean as the godfather. Even this type of weird culture is absent in Google or Amazon India.
