The day I found out my colleague earns 30% more for the same role
It was an accidental slip. A teammate mentioned her CTC while we were chatting casually. Same designation, same team, joined after me but her salary was almost 30% more. My stomach dropped. I spent days debating whether to bring it up. I didn’t want to come off as insecure or difficult. But I also couldn’t un-know what I knew. Eventually, I had an honest, data-backed conversation with my manager. Turns out, I was right and they revised my pay. It wasn’t easy, but it taught me this: silence doesn’t protect you. Companies run on numbers. If you don’t negotiate, you leave money on the table. Have you ever been in a similar spot? How did you navigate it?

I like working at RiseUpp because it it a place where I can unleash my potential and peruse my passion. RiseUpp is not just a company, it is a community of like-minded people who share a common vision and mission. RiseUpp is not just a product, it is a platform that empowers people to achieve their goals and dreams. RiseUpp is not just a job, it is a journey of learning, growing and making and impact. Some of the things that I like about working at RiseUpp are: 1- The culture of innovation, creativity, and collaboration. We are always encouraged to think out of the box, experiment with new ideas, and work together to solve problems and create solutions. 2- The diversity of talent and perspective. We have a team of experts from different fields and backgrounds, who bring their unique skills and insights to the table. We learn from each other and respect each other's opinions and contributions. 3- The flexibility of work environment and schedule. To be honest, there is nothing that I dislike about working at RiseUpp, but there are some things that make it a unique and exciting place to work. If you are looking for a conventional and comfortable job, then RiseUpp might not be for you. But if you are looking for a job that challenges you, inspire you, and rewards you, then RiseUpp is the perfect place for you. Some of the things that make working at RiseUpp different are: 1- The pressure and stress of work expectations and feedback. We have high standards for ourselves and our work, and we receive constant feedback from our customers, stakeholders, and peers. This helps us improve and grow, but it also requires us to be resilient and adoptable. We need to be able to handle constructive criticism, learn from our mistakes, and overcome obstacles. 2- The uncertainty and risk of work outcomes and opportunities. We are working in a fast-paced and dynamic industry, where things can change quickly and unpredictably. This makes our work challenging and rewarding, but it also requires us to be flexible and creative. We need to be able to embrace uncertainty and risk, and bounce back from failures. 3- The coffee machine is too good and addictive. I can't stop drinking coffee and I am always energized. (Just kidding!)
