Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

Likes

There is enabling environment and great team work. Great monthly appraisals. Work life balance is very okay. Politics is everywhere and it’s properly managed in most cases.

Dislikes

I dislike our travel policy which does not make provisions for inconvenience allowances and accommodation/hotel disbursements must be retired. End of year appraisals which is called winning together can sometimes be political. Not too comfortable with making transactions generation compulsory for back office staff and tied to winning together. Job security is not guaranteed. Reward system can be improved especially when staff consistently performs beyond par.

Likes

Ability to work as a stakeholder to many organisations across board both at up and down streams, the sector is well socializing, with articulate force in the market world of economy is a commendable effort but could lack the maintenance and care for the company staff's in deployment (welfare of the staffs').

Dislikes

There compensation as at when i worked as a ''DSRA'' wasn't friendly with more responsibilities but low earnings.
