Unlike what I had heard, the students were co-operative and eager to learn.

Though the hourly pay was higher than that offered by other colleges, it was assured that no employee earned decently by appointing an unnecessary number of lecturers and dividing the work between them. Promised payment for setting and correction of papers was never made. Other visiting lecturers and I were deliberately held back for long hours frequently. Any lecturer who had anything to offer above and beyond teaching was a victim of attempted exploitation. The chiefs of administration know that this happening from years but they do not intervene. Even basic facilities like refreshments or restrooms are difficult for visiting faculty to avail. Most of the permanent staff is least helpful and on the contrary very rude to temporary teaching staff.
