Working on Technical things, non-technical is very less.
Dislikes
...in, not much scope for wider growth
4. Upper management sounds non-technical
5. Pay is average and not as per experience
6. Groupism and favoritism across team
7. No clear direction for promo
8. No appreciation
Salary and other benefits are good only for engineering team.
Dislikes
They will use the people and throw out unless you are in good book with director or VP level. Everything is politics.
Womenism - if your manager is women then your life becomes hell. They don't give respect
Good pay. Work gives satisfaction but at the same time it gets too hectic( believe me engineers have to stay in office till midnight also if the work is not complete)
Managers micro manage team members and there is a lot of politics involved in work assignment and appraisals. The complaints don't get heard even at higher levels due to politics(since managers and above have been there for around 15 years together so basically you cannot complain about any issue as higher management people have worked together for a long time). Not so open work culture overall.
There are few pros to mention but cons are more, and pros are nothing to think about in front of them
Dislikes
So many.
Many people say it depends on the team. But I do see many employees in different teams suffer alot, even the day I do see salary in my account doesn't give me happiness. Pay/Benifits are not at all worth of the suffer that we go through in Qualcomm.
Mainly Hyderabad office, I do see lot of psycho people in management and lead positions who makes unnecessary discussions with employees and yell on them for nothing. No body is professional, nothing is organised, too much work pressure, even if there's no work still they will pressure you in some other way, humiliates you, degrades you(though they are actually the degraded ones). Sooo terrible and toxic work culture, that I resigned after 5 months of joining. I regret alot my decision of joining Qualcomm, I rejected lot of great offers from companies with great work culture, for joining Qualcomm, I regret it like anything.
Provides very nice Benefits to employees
Job is secure once you are permanent especially in india
Company culture is good but that depends on team, some managers dont care about the culture
No work life balance
If you stay for more than 4 years you will not get salary and benefits as per the market standards, a new joinee with 1.5 year exp get more salary the person with 5 years exp within qualcomm
You need to butter managers boot for promotions or appraisal
Most of the teams have labourious work or repeatative work, not much towords skill development or work satisfaction
Mostly 10+ years experienced peoples who were not able to switch job to any other company for last decade have ruined the entire culture of qualcomm hyderabad, especially IOT domain, they are not happy with efficient peoples rather they are interested in labours who follow instructions blindly with 0 IQ
