New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

If I would have been from Bihar, then I should have mentioned good things about the company.

Dislikes

1. The owner is from Bihar and he's more inclined to people from his hometown. 2. Favouritism is very much there, you will be treated very badly if you don't like to flatter the boss. 3. HR management policy is very bad, they will keep an eye on your actions and everything you do. You will feel as if you are working in a school. 4. HR behave like they are wives to their boss and take very privilege just by being with him, one was them was Simran Imlani 5. The filtered leads are given to their favorites, I mean the people from Bihar and the people who love to be the yes man to their bosses. ^.Last, but not least, they can be thrown at you anytime, be you a performer or nonperformer.
