New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

You get to work on some of the biggest projects that India has to offer.

... worst as they call you family to drain your life making you work all 7 days. Company knows they can't survive without playing dirty tricks and make you think you are valued but the same is not reflected in your salary or your life-style. Everybody got promoted in the recent times to Director designation just to retain them, even though we are just a small team of 8. :D The retention rate is pathetic as the new Artists understand all of these and resign just in a week or so. Company talks about Saturday off but that does not happen, as I am hearing the CEO says he will do it in a year or so but it's been 8 years I am working with them now but did not get a Saturday or Sunday off. Company gives us false promises just to make us even more harder. Company is getting richer by exploiting the Artists. Company makes crores and literally gives us peanuts for your blood, sweat and tears.

I initially thought the CEO is very cool and understanding as he take cares of every individual but he is doing all of these for his own benefit and manipulates every Artist thinking of the same. Finance head is another headache in the company where she acts bossy and questions everything without knowing anything.

What is there to like in this company? The CEO & Finance head manipulates you in every way possible, the so called Managers talk sweet to you just to drain your life and get work out of you, there is no work timings at all and work life balance is a joke here. There are few old Artists in the company who tried to leave the company but since the company is so manipulative that they are unable to quit and have become used to the company sacrificing personal lives. The company has this unique strategy where the company will promote you as soon as you tell them that you are quitting and due to which every one in the company is a head/director of something.
