Salary Expectations

I am a Social Media Specialist with over 4 years of experience and was earning around 4.5 LPA in my previous role. When I joined my current organization, I discovered that my manager, with just 2.5 years of work experience, was earning a compensation of 7.6 -8.2 LPA (approx). This was quite surprising to me, and it made me question the market standards. I am currently looking to switch roles and, based on my research through Glassdoor and other sources, I am expecting a package of 7-8 LPA. However, many HRs I’ve spoken to feel that even 6 LPA is too high. What should be the ideal salary expectation for someone with my experience in the current market?

...staffs is a nightmare. We are being discriminates badly by the permanent staffs. More work load given to us as the permanent staffs accused us that we getting higher salary then them. There is no career growth, salary/appraisal and etc. for a Contract Staffs. Talking about Work Life Balance?even worse as boss came to the office at 4pm and request for a meeting start at 7 or 8pm . Reason given "ohhh this is a Super Fast Project thats y we need you here" what a stupid reason. Situation getting worse when all the experience staffs being laid off and left all the youngsters that willing to work with higher position but lower Salary. Thats what Petronas is now this.
