Oracle has customers world wide so the work that you do impacts many people. This gives a huge satisfaction as a Software Developer. The work life balance is great where 5-6 hours of solid work is enough to get you through your daily tasks. I have not heard of any layoffs in Oracle's Application Development Unit so the job security is great.

Dislikes

...USD in stocks and if you join as an IC2 with 1-4 years of experience, you get 0. The salary desparity is huge and as far as I have heard, the hike cycles are non existent. With regards to learning, as an Applications Developer at Oracle, you will work with Internal tools like VBS and ADF which are not widely used in the industry. These are low code tools which require good problem solving and debugging skills to master but do not require hands on coding as such. Additionally, now they have also started 5 days WFO in most of the Hyderabad teams.

Fine place to learn and get certified in oracle product. Resource Managers are supportive(Maybe I was fortunate to have a good manager) On request, the managers are good to offer WFH

Dislikes

No pay raise for years No rewards or recognition No encouragement to train n get skills upgraded Legacy softwares and primitive methods in use. Did not get to work on the latest technology No travel opportunities No celebrating a product release or achievements Not even annual day is celebrated.

Work Flexibility sometimes.

Dislikes

No hikes and no promotions for years. Bonus is written on papers only. It will not be paid(3 years once they pay little). Except work flexibility nothing good here. Now it is also not there because of agile policy. No learning. you should work on old technologies. Few managers show their psychoism on us. They don't treat employees as professionals. They treat as laborer.

...s simply a race where the grass is put infront on face of the horse to run more. Bad thing is there will be no hike for couple of years. Worst work satisfaction.

1. AUTOCRATIC - DICTATORSHIP. YOU LISTEN, SAY YES TO EVERYTHING OR GET OUT. 2. The company is so damn slow in implementing projects. A simple change which can be handled via a ticket, takes 3 months to complete on avg. 3. Life - Forget about it. There is no life beyond work, if at least work gives satisfaction, no, systems, people are so slow and autocratic. Management, utter incapable, no questions asked. 4. Which ever stream / vertical you enter, you surely are going to screw your personal life for a work that does not add any value at least minimum to your resume. 5. Learning - The Management makes you do many things with not less than 20 iterations each activity, where you simply lose focus. 6. You're lost, both professionally, personally at family level and yourself. 7. Clearly not recommend. 8. Heard of ever a management asking to Mandatorily work on weekends, although there is no work. It is expected by the company or anyone, to support business in all cases when needed. But this is way to high than realistic expectations.
