Too much politics by leadership, no promotion, no good hike , no recognition or award , people staying in the company for 15- 16 years are major decision takers , very bad learning curve , repetitive work , employees getting burnt out , proper service based culture or call center based

Guys basically optum is very good organisation, But carefully check your offer when you get a it from optum. Optum actually take other companies as their subsidiaries and those companies are shit, I joined as a software Engineer in a organisation called XL Health Private Ltd through optum. These guys are ridiculous and so unprofessional. You can find more terrible things below about this company.

... and they will dump a stack of work on you as though you are senior engineer. 4. There is no salary hikes. 5. There no HR for me actually, how can I forget that. 6. If you read review about this company you would most generous people writing like, if you are a fresher you want to learn then definitely you have join this company those particular reviews are the one ruined my 2 years. So just don't keep those in your mind. 7. So try for more opportunities I know freshers find difficult but brothers and sisters trust me you don't want to step into hell. After listening this you might think I have serious issues with my manager and all but believe me I have no issues with anyone infact I have best friends in my time and still I am in contact with them. It's nothing personal but a concern about people is what making me write this. So choose wisely.

Optum has a slow paced work environment, which helps you focus on your personal life and goals so you dont have to overwork as in the case of other technology firms

There’s a company wide policy of extremely low hikes and pay grade. The company is not good for your personal and career growth.

...lopment, HEALTH INSURANCE provided for employee is bad. low hikes. low salaries. you'll have to forget about your variable pay as they give only 20-30% of it, and it totally depends on manager for how much % he wants to give you. It's an average place to work, its just that you shouldn't expect much from it. UHG stands in top 5 in Fortune 500, yet you cant expect much from it.

So I started off at Optum as a fresher , and let me tell you I was no good when I had started. My first project and team was really amazing and helpful. I got a chance to work with big-data tech stack. There are a lot of internal developed tools and projects , and if you don't feel good with your project you can switch teams in 1 year. You'll get enough leaves and some health benefits. There are really good internally organized trainings ranging from web-development , mobile-app development , big-data , NLP/machine learning and cyber-security. You'll be able to reach out and interact with healthcare tech - specialists and provide our ideas. You can also get some free azure trainings and certifications if your manager approves. Overall company and policies are great , but focus is on US market and Indians do suffer because of it , late night meetings , deployments and much focus is on work done by US folks rather that Indians.

...r US counterparts. Work is not much , until you reach production timelines . Indian managers can turn out to be bad , as they have control over your cash rewards , annual bonus and quarterly cash rewards. Finally a small note - you will have to always fight for yourself , until you sell yourself , someone else will get promotions and better hikes .
