Not fit for anyone's expectations. Below average honestly i say. working more than 12 hours a day and no proper weekly offs. 6 week offs written in terms & conditions but just giving 4. There is no skill development scope. None follows SOP's.

Working In Novotel Chennai Sipcot is quite of an experience as the working culture is very prominent. The growth and satisfaction of the work is beyond expectation. The learning field leads is impressive and we get to learn a lot .

Dislikes

The working shifts are too long and the hotel is way understaffed. Less pay, working hours goes up to 16 hours .

Likes

I do 12 hour shifts I release the night shifter worker, I have to check the audit reports and make sure there isn't any kind of mistake on them. I then check the tile from the night shift. Then I check on that days check ins to make sure everyone have a room and has been posted. Then I check emails and return phone calls to anyone that has called before I came in for the day. I also check to see how many outstanding invoices there are, and send out reminders to those that haven't come in yet. I check to see if laundry needs to be done, if so i wash, dry, and then fold. After that is all done then I answer phone, check in guest, and also check on online pricing for our hotel to make sure that we are well within our rate. I have learned how to do a lot of multitasking, Also how to work alone and how to get the most out of my time. I learned how to write up invoices and how important it is to make sure that they are all posted. I also learned how to make Group reservations here at the hotel. For a long time there was just two of us, so I learned that YOU have to be reliable for the owner. My job is very easy I don't find any of it hard. I have been working at this same hotel for years and even when it was sold. Me and the new owner got to know how to work off each other. Customers, I have some people who have been coming in here as long as I have been working here and they are a joy. But I am a people person and can talk to anyone
