No Salary Discussion in My Appraisal — What’s Your Experience?
In my appraisal meeting, they didn’t ask or discuss my expectations about my salary or hike percentage. The entire discussion was only about feedback and performance review. After the meeting, I asked why they didn’t allow me to share my expectations or reveal my hike numbers. They told me that the hike numbers would be decided only by the owner and then they would inform me. I feel an appraisal meeting should include open discussion about both performance and future expectations. What are your thoughts? Does this happen in your company too?

They will give you so much work, way more than your salary you are getting, there is no work-life balance, and no holidays are given even during the Indian major festivals like Holi or Eid. Basically, you can count the number of holidays they are giving in a single year on one hand. They don't even get client projects and will lay off you suddenly without any notice. There is no cafeteria in the company, company culture is the worst, they will expect you to work on holidays also.

A good place to work as seniors are helpful and gives a good environment to learn.

Dislikes

... lot of politics and they have an answer for every wrong thing they do with you. The compensation is also not decent as they have been paying 12K INR for the past 3 years to the interns even though the company is doing pretty well. Also, they unnecessarily increased the internship of our batch while claiming that "We are in a pandemic" which led many of the interns to leave the organization as the internship which was supposed to end in 6 months stretched to a year. There is no on-job training for freshers and you will have to learn everything by yourself and they expect you to give the best to them. They also give mentors to teams who don't have any knowledge of the team's tech stack and which eventually causes a lot of delays because of improper mentoring.

Career growth is good. Nature of this workplace is progressive. People are cooperative. It's not that everything is too good. There are some issues, but most importantly our work doesn't get affected because of them, so if youre joining for work exposure you will surely benefit from it.

Terrible work hours, management believes in putting pressure on employees to get things done rather than motivating them, unreasonable timelines and employees are forced to work on things that are not in their domain without any guidance. No benefits at all
