Work environment is depend on schools and some islands are very remote. Culture of management is also vary from school to school. But living expenses are very less, at the same time difficult for vegetarian.

My school is working under Ministry of Maldives . The work atmosphere is good and stress free.The infrastructure is very excellent . The colleagues are very cooperative in my school. Principal and leading teachers are very supportive and guide us to achieve goals. Teachers will have to do online training courses which facilitates the improvement in their teaching skills and confidence. Moreover, we will receive to and fro free air tickects in the vacation time .

Dislikes

Every work place may have its own limitations. Here, if we need a leave; family respobilty leave/emergency leave , we have to submit an amount and go. The localisation is growing.so the job security problem is there. The medical facilities are not so good in islands and is more expensive to foreigners.The travel facilities are also expensive . If need arises for medical and travel ,our savings will not be enough.

Working at ministry of education , maldives was quite challenging. I had a wonderful experience teaching the innocent children . If i get a chance would like to work again there.

Dislikes

No social life . One has to be ready to work round the clock . Transportation was a big problem.

A lot of professional development programs organized by the ministry, parallel to the technological advancements.Students teachers ratio,and constant improvement in teaching methodology.Teaching Cambridge and Ed excel syllabus gives lot of exposure to international teaching experience, which enable us to apply for other international schools world wide.

Dislikes

Job insecurity and denial of salary increment.
