Positives - 1) Job security and employee care Even in pandemic situation they did not sack people from design department (deducted salary though, which I think is not uncommon within industry). 2) Managers are friendly and supportive Managers here are very friendly and supportive in personal as well as professional front. If you maintain good relation with managers you will have great time here. 3) Work life balance Managers maintain their work life balance so the other engineers. Sometimes due to work load it may get affected for engineers but it is quite normal. Culture is not like if you stay more then only you are sincere. Even the managers don't stay late in office except for exceptional situations like urgent work which occurs around 5-10 times a month which I feel is normal. 4) weekly offs 1st and 3rd Saturdays are off plus all Sundays. Negatives - 1) Strict timings Very strict in and out times. In time is 9.00am and allowed late is up to 9.05am only. If you even punch at 9.06am you will get late mark. Only 4 late marks are allowed in a month. 2) No freedom in product design Freedom for designers to implement their innovative ideas is very less as there is always fear that if the idea doesn't work, it may lead to ECN (cost addition) which is a CRIME! Designers mostly use concepts from existing proven designs and don't take any 'chances'. Even if you want to implement any innovative idea you will be asked to take references from existing proven designs (even if it is bad) 3) Politics If you want to stay here you need to be very attentive and clever as people from other departments will always try to point design department for any failure or any issue in product (even if it is handed over), then instead of focusing on the issue, blame games happen, so many noisy meetings in the department happens sometimes we even feel like managers will have a wrestling match between them due to which the main issue remains aside. In all this customer suffers!

The company is open to innovation and readily adopts letest technology..anathor plus point is that my colleagues come from various cultural backgrounds,and we work happily in collaboration.

Lots of time waisting in searching things like data, engineering drawings, who is the right person from other deptt to work with etc. This creates inefficiency and ultimately late sittings in office
